Say hello to Baby Macee!  You could say that Macee is my newest little niece. You know when you have a long-time friend that is so close to you that they are more like family, and you spend so much time together that their family becomes your second family… well, it goes a little something like that. 😉

Macee is baby number three for my best friends sister and her husband.

At the end of March, we took a little weekend road trip to Kamloops, B.C. to spend time with family and friends, and to meet Macee at her baby shower. Not only did we get to meet our friends new baby girl, but they got to meet our youngest for the first time too. It was a weekend full of babies!

I was so blessed to be able to do newborn photos for them of their new baby girl. As a studio newborn photographer, being away from home and without my studio equipment or my props within arms reach brought on a completely new experience for me doing newborn photography. I am so used to my dedicated studio space and equipment. Sometimes you have to just make do with what you’ve got (or in my case, with what I could bring with me and fit in our vehicle) and you have to give it your all. So that’s what I did. With my camera, a flokati rug and a handful of my newborn baby girl props, I got to work my magic and was able to capture some oh-so adorable newborn portraits of little Miss Macee <3

It was so fitting for her, and as you can see, it was a simple newborn photography session kind of way 😉

Macee wasn’t so sleepy when we first started her session, but she was as calm and relaxed as can be. After a little break to do some extended family photos for my best friends family, a good feed, some mama and dad love, and her looming afternoon nap, she slept like a dream for the rest of her session! She was so peaceful and sweet!

It was an honour to be able to capture newborn photos for such a long-time friend of mine and her husband. I can’t wait to see Macee grow and face the world with love and laughter like her two older siblings! <3
