Capturing Motherhood in all its LOVE | Calgary Family Photographer

Motherhood is something that is so near and dear to me. Not only because I get to photograph motherhood in all its pure and unconditional form of love – from the growing baby bump to a mother holding her days old newborn – but because I am a mother myself.  I understand the all-encompassing everyday moments of raising little ones. Motherhood is an emotional roller-coaster full of love, laughter, happiness, exhaustion, pure emotion, but above all else, it is the most touching and rewarding blessing to ever be given in this lifetime.

Moms are most often behind the cameras taking thousands of pictures of our children, and our children with their dad. Hardly do we find ourselves in the photos with our children. So earlier this year, I set out to offer Motherhood sessions to celebrate moms with their babies and children.

Here are some of those mamas with their babies and children.

If I could spend my days photographing mamas with their babies, I would be one happy girl. Maybe because I am a mama myself, so I know how near and dear these types of photos are to a mother’s heart. I know and understand the beautiful the bond between a mother and her child that she has birthed, raised, taught and loves with everything she has, and everything that she is.

I was so honoured to be able to photograph some past Honey Heart mamas and their babies, and some new Honey Heart mamas and their children. These Motherhood sessions really solidified for me what my business and brand is all about – capturing the beautiful, natural, and real moments of life and parental love. That is why maternity photography also holds a special place in my heart… because there never was a baby without a mama.
